Fertility treatments

IVF - In Vitro Fertilisation treatment cell

In vitro fertilisation (IVF)

During IVF, eggs are retrieved from the ovaries following a period of stimulation and then mixed with sperm in a lab. The resulting embryo/s are left to develop over a 5-6 day period before being transferred to the birth parent or frozen.

Intrauterine insemination (IUI)

IUI is a less invasive procedure than IVF which involves injecting healthy sperm directly into the uterus. This is usually recommended for same-sex female couples using a sperm donor.

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)

ICSI is an additional step during the IVF process that is recommended for patients with male factor infertility or that are using frozen eggs. It involves injecting a single healthy sperm directly into the egg.

Frozen embryo transfer

Frozen embryo transfer

If you have embryos that have been frozen - either from a previous cycle, for pre-implantation genetic testing or to give your body a break from hormone medication - one will be safely thawed ready for transfer to the birth parent.

Treatment

Our treatment pathways

We proudly support patients from all backgrounds. Whether you're experiencing fertility challenges, are pursuing treatment as a solo parent or building your family with the help of a donor, we're here for you.

Natural and mild IVF

If you want to avoid high doses of fertility medications, natural or mild IVF may be right for you. We use no or fewer medications to stimulate egg growth, collecting the single egg you grow in a natural cycle.

IVF for over 40s

As you age, the quality and quantity of your eggs declines making natural conception more difficult. However, this doesn't mean that you are ineligible for treatment once you reach the age of 40 and there are several options you can consider, including using donor eggs.

Solo parenthood

If you're pursuing treatment as a solo parent, you can build your family with the help of a sperm donor. Through our comprehensive donation programme, we can help match you to your ideal donor.

Donor conception

There are many reasons why you may consider using a donor in your treatment. Whatever your circumstances, we're here to support you every step of the way, matching you to your ideal donor.

Reciprocal IVF

If you're in a same-sex female, trans-man or non-binary partnership, reciprocal IVF enables both partners to be involved in creating and carrying a pregnancy.

IVF using an egg donor

If you’re using donor eggs for IVF, this option allows individuals or couples to experience pregnancy and parenthood, even if they are unable to use their own eggs, ensuring a meaningful journey to parenthood.

Fertility preservation

At TFP Nurture Fertility, we help individuals, couples and co-parents safeguard their future by freezing eggs, sperm and embryos.

You may consider preserving your fertility if you wish to delay parenthood, are about to undergo gender reaffirming surgery or are having treatment for a medical condition.

Egg freezing

Egg freezing involves a partial IVF cycle. This includes a course of hormone medication to stimulate egg growth followed by an egg collection procedure.

Embryo freezing

Embryos survive the thawing process better than eggs and sperm. We recommend embryo freezing if you have a partner or co-parent or wish to use a donor.

Pre-implantation genetic testing

At TFP Nurture Fertility, we perform pre-implantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A). PGT-A tests for abnormal numbers of chromosomes (aneuploidy) in embryos created during IVF. Aneuploidy embryos have less chance of developing into a baby and are at higher risk of causing miscarriage or genetic conditions, such as Down's Syndrome.

By carrying out PGT-A, we are able to identify embryos with a normal amount of chromosomes which are suitable for transfer or freezing.
